Dubai Chambers Unveil New Business Group ‘ DuPAT’ for Paper Products

New Group Unveiled to Promote ‘ Made in UAE’ Products and Push for Fair Play in the Paper and Towel Assiduity

That marked a moment in the sanctioned launch of DuPAT, the first-ever business group for the paper and towel assiduity in the UAE, under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry( DCCI). This group aims to make ‘ Made in UAE’ products successful in both local and international markets.

DuPAT will concentrate on building the UAE’s $2 billion corrugated board packaging and towel paper sectors, seeking new growth mileposts, and reinforcing the brand equity of ‘Made in UAE’ across colorful request. The organization was launched at the open Propaper Dubai 2024 exhibition, whereby its ‘ambassadors’ emphasized the charge of supporting UAE-grounded firms to build their request share and expand into new import requests.

There are approximately 30 founding members and hope to expand the membership to over 300. Other than Sharafi, the founding board consists of Abdul Jebbar P.B., Vice Chairman of DuPAT and Author & Chairman of Hotpack diligence; Rajamahendiran, Director of DuPAT and CEO of Emirates Industrial Converting Factory LLC; Aejaz Ahmed Munshi, Director of DuPAT and General Manager of Star Paper Mills; and Mahmoud Al Kurd, Secretary General of DuPAT and General Manager of Gulf Manufacturing LLC. Experts at assiduity estimate that the requirement of towels and hygiene paper alone in the UAE is to the tune of $525 million, while the requirement of kraft paper is approximately $450 million.

DuPAT will enforce GSO norms for towel and paper products under ESMA to include consumer rights and ensure fair competition among stakeholders.

The assiduity body will also conduct training programs to raise the level of skills of the pool, encourage the abandonment of the most back wrench manufacturing technologies, and support research and development activity intended to create and improve.
